Experiment 0: My Star Sky

So, a few months back, I had this idea to create a simple app where you could build your own starry sky.

But honestly, the tools I had back then just weren’t cutting it. I had to shelve the project for a bit.

Fast forward to today, I decided to give it another go—and guess what? My Star Sky is now live, and I literally published it just minutes ago!

The app is pretty straightforward and was built for my daughter to play around placing stars on the sky.

You get to create stars, one click at a time, and watch them sparkle against a dark sky.

The best part?

Every sky is completely unique and it’s not just some random clicking—you get a little science thrown in.

There’s a built-in star calculator that keeps track of every star you create and even calculates what percentage of the universe you've "created."

Now, obviously, space is huge, so the percentage is always going to be tiny (like, ridiculously tiny).

But it’s still fun to see the numbers and know that your personal sky is growing with every click.

Here’s how it works:

It’s a small project, but building your own galaxy—even just a tiny piece of it—feels pretty special.

Whether you're a space nerd or just want something calming to do, My Star Sky is a fun way to create your own universe, one star at a time.

TRY IT
