This is the news in the AI world for the last two days — OpenAI just launched Sora 2.
A new and improved AI video generator that feels less like a portal to another internet.
If the first Sora was about “look what AI can do,” this one is about “look what you can do with it.”
And yes, that includes turning yourself into a almost live meme.

OpenAI went all in and didn’t just drop a better model, but a full social app — think TikTok, but powered by AI only video.
You type an idea, and Sora turns it into a realistic short clip, complete with synced sound, dialogue, and physics that actually make sense.
People can remix your clips, add themselves to your video using featurec called “Cameos,” and share it back to the feed.
The concept is wild — and slightly scary.
The app learns what you like, who you watch, and what you create.
But instead of chasing your attention, it’s designed to spark creativity. The feed isn’t ment to endless doomscroll, but to push you to make something yourself.
Imagine a TikTok where every swipe tempts you to type a prompt.
Cameos are where it gets personal.
You can literally record a short clip of yourself, and Sora will use that to place you inside any scene.

But of course, the internet is already testing the limits.
Within hours of launch, Sora’s feed was flooded with violent and weird videos — proving that the guardrails, while stronger than before, are still not bulletproof.
It’s a reminder that creativity and chaos always travel together.
Still, Sora 2 is a huge improvement.
The videos are shockingly realistic.
Movements are smoother.
The physics make sense.
