Traditional lead generation eats time.
You search job boards, scroll through LinkedIn, read company websites, and try to piece everything together.
By the time you’ve built a list of prospects, you’ve lost hours—sometimes days.
Agent Mode changes that. Instead of you doing the digging, your AI agent works across hundreds of sources, analyzes signals you define, and compiles a clean list of qualified leads with links and evidence.
You tell it what to look for, and it does the rest.
Why Signals Matter
The secret is in the signals.
Instead of targeting by vague demographics, you train your agent to spot behaviors that show real intent.
That could mean:
- Job postings for “AI transformation” roles
- Press releases about expansions or partnerships
- News coverage of compliance initiatives
- Funding rounds signaling rapid growth
- Case studies showing new tech adoption
These are public breadcrumbs companies leave when they’re ready to buy. Your agent knows how to follow them.
Setting Up Your Agent
- Open ChatGPT and activate Agent Mode under Tools.
- Make sure web search is enabled.
- Define your prompt.
Prompt template:
You are an expert Lead Generation Agent specializing in finding leads for B2B companies.
I want you to identify at least 50 companies that show signals of [YOUR BUYING SIGNAL].
Specifically look for companies that:
- [CRITERIA 1]
- [CRITERIA 2]
- [CRITERIA 3]
The companies should be:
- Based in [YOUR TARGET REGIONS]
- [COMPANY SIZE REQUIREMENTS]
- [INDUSTRY SPECIFICATIONS]
For each company provide:
- Company name and location
- Evidence of the signal you found
- Source links for verification
Example: If you sell AI workshops and content, your agent could search for companies hiring “AI transformation” or “AI enablement” roles in the U.S. or Europe.
Here is the final prompt I submited:

Watching It Work
Hit send and let the agent build its virtual desktop.
Over the next 30–60 minutes, it will:
- Scan job boards and company career pages
- Cross-check role descriptions with your criteria
- Validate company size, sector, and region
- Gather direct links for proof
You can watch it reject unqualified matches and lock in on real prospects.
Reviewing Your Lead List
When Its done, you can see the steps it took and how much time did it need to perform the task.

In my case it executed the task in 37 minutes.
When it’s done, you’ll get a structured table.
Each row gives you:
- Company name, website, and location
- The job title or signal that qualified them
- Source links to confirm the data
This is what it did for me – Prompt Results: A table with 50 companies that fit the requirement stated in the prompt.

Tweak & Refine
This is the time and place to evaluate the results.
I’m not entirely satisfied with the results, so I’ll keep tweaking the Company Profile and signal types.
And when satisfied with the results, make it autonomous, and function Schedule.
Automate it
After the prompt that gives you best results, create a schedule to execute the same task on regular basis.
Click the three dots and

This is the scheduler interface … setup frequency, Day and time when the Agent will execute and delivered the task.

And thats it, your next batch of leads should be delivered directly to your drive sheet/excel file.
