Idea: Cute little weekend business?

This past week the autumn officially kicked in here in Ljubljana.

Days are getting shorter and I get to my OCP (Official Couch Position) earlier than in the summer or spring.

This means that endless TV switching is always a danger option.

So today, when I need to punch in some hours for my company, i decided I’ll put fireplace as a background on Youtube, rather than have random program on.

Why do you even have/want a TV in the background in the first place?

Well, thanks for asking, but usually OCP happens with my wife and she watches a random program and plays with her phone.

So I got used to having TV in the background.

Also, our TV is Ambilight, and if you don’t know what that is look it up, since its really nice extra set of pleasant interactive lights in your living room.

I like it a lot, so I want my TV on to have nice evening lightning.

But I don’t want to have random movie or a TV shop or god forbit a reality program, since its dangerous as hell.

You just have a peek.

And then another.

Then you catch just that one convo … 30 minutes is gone, you still wanna finish your shit and the clock is 2 AM.

So I the lovely autumn evening reminded me of a fireplace.

And since I don’t have one, in the wintertime we often put a fireplace as a background when we hang and don’t want to watch TV.

So that’s just what I did.

And if you think, I just randomly select the first place YouTube recommends you clearly do not know me.

Since I’ll have this for a couple of hours, I’ve taken my time in pick the perfect little fireplace.

When researching I noticed a Youtube channel called Relax with TV Backgrounds.

Youtube channel Relax with TV Backgrounds

They have 130 videos on their channel.

And 147.000 subscribers.

The channel was created in May 2020, so its four and a half years long or 50 months for easier calculation.

That means they create 2.6 videos per month.

That’s 1 every 2 weeks! 🙂

According to Social blade they have 35.000 daily views. (average of the last 14 days)

Which according to the Influencer marketing hub gets to somewhere between 60 and 100 dollars a day or 2 to 3k per month.

Thats 25-35k yearly which is very descent weekend business.

Let’s also take all these numbers with a grain of salt and as very rough estimates, ok?

But still … it doesn’t cost any money to start this type of channel. đ

Ok, probably a monthly subscription to a video editing tool with a library of stock footage to use as content to work with.

Even with 0 knowledge on video editing, you can produce one video a week.

Its basically a loop of stock footage.

You can even use the same footage for multiple youtube upaloads.

One with natural sound = fire cracking.

One with piano music background.

One with jazz.

… you get the idea.

The only thing you’d wat to add a bit of extra time and effort is youtube descriptions and meta data.

This can be an asset of a new and specialised YouTube channel.

Also some manual work – such as Reddit and forum comments, social networks etc – would help.

Also, you could prepare for the season … most views are done in Dec and January.

Or find a way to

This was a quick little mind flow that I had while choosing my work background sound and lightning.

Now I have some work to do as well.

With my fine little fireplace in the background.

Cheers!

PS: I choose the “natural sound” one.
